Family Visits to Liege Belgium

After a wonderful time in Namur, France, we drove to Liege.  We stayed the evening there in a quaint flat large enough for the 6 of us.

I was pretty tired by then so I only have pictures of the inside of the apartment.  Hopefully, I can load these pictures onto my blog.  I have tried several times without success..... blah.
combined kitchen, dining and living room....nice....very comfortable

windows with lots of light (I love that) and greenery (love that, too)

large plaque on wall with sentimental saying on it......

This is a classic example of saying "too much."  Sorry, I like the saying, but the ending "not how we left it" detracts.  It is kind of like explaining a joke, it isn't funny anymore if you have to have it explained to you.  It's the wanna-be artist in me I guess.  Sorry for complaining....I just had to comment on it.

Family Visits Namur, France

This is a great day.  Here we are in the most beautiful place that I've never heard of and all because Jay's dad served some time on his mission here.

He could tell us about the Citadel (where the pictures were taken from) and about the city and surrounds.  What a great place...so beautiful.

What do you think? Have a look:
Here we are at the citadel enjoying the city views....

and other strange views of "rescue" practice. (Hope I don't need to be rescued....I don't speak French, you know.)

Here is Elder Williams in Namur 50 years later.  Who would have thought!

Father and daughter-in-law looking over the city scape.

This is what we see....it kind of looks like toy city.

There is a river in Namur and it seems to go all around the citadel.

A moment to reminisce.

Emily took this photo....it's great....

but, then again, I am a bit biased :o)

Grandpa sharing with Ivan about his mission.

Did someone say lunchtime????

Oh, yeah, there is a café at the top of the citadel.

There's always time to pose with Grandma!

Bring on the food - we are hungry!!!

Ancient Namur is a painting on the wall.

The café and we are forever suspended in time waiting for our orders to arrive....

Family Visits Water Who?

On our way to Namur, France, we happen to pass Waterloo.  You know, the famous battle with Napoleon and his troops.

We stopped to give it a look, but discovered it would take more euros than we wanted to spend and more time to really enjoy it so Jay and I put it on our list of things to do .... later.

Here is Waterloo:
Well, what were you expecting?  It's just a big hill with a cool lion statue on the top.
Father and son at Waterloo.

Family Visits and Whirlwinds

Guess what?  Jay's parents and aunt came all the way from the United States to pay us a little visit!  Yeah!  We had the best time.  It was a whirlwind of a great time.

Here are a few "spoilers."  Emily got her Patriarchal Blessing from her Grandpa Williams on June 7th, we went to some places where Grandpa Williams had served his mission some 50 years ago, we floated on a river, walked in a castle, took a million pictures of stained-glass windows and ate a ton of chocolate every single day!!! just to name a few (spoilers that is).

Hello Mom and Dad and Grandparents.  So happy to see you!  Thank you for coming!

Walking the streets of Brussels.
He is walking the streets of Brussels, too.  (Heave Ho!!)

Dean and I wander into a honey shop.  It was very sweet!

So good to be with grandparents!
The next morning in the lobby of the lovely hotel we stayed at.  We are ready for our next adventure!
