Metz, France (and another cathedral!)

Our next fun adventure was to pick Aunt Candy up from the airport and go straight to Metz, France.  Candy did great considering she just got off a loooong flight and had jetlag!

Here you will see the beautiful cathedral in Metz:

Need a magnifying glass? me, too.  Or, more likely, a French translator!

A beautiful cathedral from the outside.  We are about to go inside.  Come along and see.....

We are not disappointed.  It is truly amazing.

I'm speechless.....

except when I see this spirally staircase with a throne and platform on it.....suddenly I'm dying to walk up it and sit on the throne, but, of course, that would be a really dumb thing to do so I just take a picture.

An altar in a beautiful alcove with stained glass....does evoke reverence and awe.

The lighting was just right....thank you sun :o)

Here we are looking to the left......(and yes, that is Jay walking on the side there)

and then looking to the right at the great organ.

OK, this is the best window in the house.

There was an art exhibition there and we had a look at it.  No pictures, though, only of Jay and Candy.

happy to be together

We've exited the cathedral and are still admiring it from the outside.

It's been a wonderful visit and such a beautiful creation!  Good-bye cathedral in Metz - until we meet again!
