London Trip: Part 3, The Dr. Who Experience

Have a look at all the interesting Dr. Who stuff.  (Warning: be prepared to see ugly monsters!)

River Song's shoes and journals (if you watch Dr. Who you will know who I'm talking about).

Here is the head of a Dr. Who enemy...the cyberman.

Another enemy to Dr. Who...the dalek.  Here it is made of legos.

"The host"

A suedo weeping angel.

Emily is feeling the "Dr. Who" vibes.

Clara's book

The tree king costume.

Here is the tree king's wifey.

Time Lord costumes from the planet where all time lords come from Gallifrei.

Ever have one of those days????

Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.....

Everybody gets to wear special "crystals" for protection in the Dr. Who Experience....sorry, no photos allowed in the "Experience."

The Dr. Who experience was....ummm....well, let's just say it was interesting.  How can I describe it?  If you haven't seen Dr. Who it may be indescribable.  The kids enjoyed it, that's what counts.

So, after the experience, we exit into the Dr. Who Museum and there are many orignal items from Dr. Who episodes to be gawked at.

Keep in mind that Dr. Who has been on BBC since about 1963 (could it be the world's longest running made for TV series?  I don't know).

You can see some of the progression of the costumes and special effects over the years.

I'm especially impressed with the Judith doll (just kidding).

Talk about ancient! Wow!

This could very well be the very first tardis control center (or whatever it is called)

Here is a nice upgrade...more buttons.  What do you think?

It's all being held in a giant warehouse.  This is much like the Harry Potter experience we had a few days later.

Another upgrade to the look of the interior of the tardis.  There are yet more upgrades to take place before looking like it does today.

It's not Dr.Who without the tardis.

Be careful what you touch...especially big red button-looking objects.

Emily has that "Dr. Who" glow about her :o)

Hey! who let these two in??  GUARDS!!!!

Remember when making a costume required a certain amount of inner creativity and a whole lot of "junk" laying around the house?

Meet Canine the robot dog.

Hello potato man in a space suit.

A mild mannered ud behind Emily.

They say you are what you eat (ewww, gross).

more pictures of slimy absorption man....

Reptile woman...

Go brush your teeth you disgusting thing!

Oh great, Emily's getting into the action now.

Watch out!

Cybermen...then and then...(these are the older models, but they haven't changed all that much).

peek-a-boo: it's a cyberman birthday party!

Emily against the daleks...you go girl!

Emily is standing next to a robot in disguise....funny, huh?

I'm speechless here...but cool looking creature anyway, right?

Ivan would you like an acquarium with a pet....uh, a pet....what is that thing again?

It looks so real...a big improvement from bumble bee man.

I saw this episode.  I didn't like it very much (sometimes they win and sometimes they lose).

Jay wearing Emily's scarf and visiting with an old friend.

Ever want to be a dalek?

Emily had her chance :o)

Here is Mr. Bow Tie Dr. Who.

The last three Dr.'s costumes.  The costume with the bow tie was the last one before the most current Dr. Who.

The most current "Doc's" costume.

Costumes from the Robin Hood episode.  Emily says it's a funny one.

Watch your back you scary monster!

Good-bye Dr. Who, until we meet again, we'll be watching you on BBC.
